Chili

Hello. Im Chili, but I go by Chills.  Im looking for a family.

I asked my foster mom to help me with my bio, mostly because she has thumbs, but also to describe me in two words. She said sweet and chill.

My two favorite things are being loved on and snacking. The best afternoons are when my foster mom and me sit on the porch and she scratches my ears and we nibble on snacks.  My next favorite thing to do is wander around the yard. I live out in the country now so there are all kinds of things to smell. Im slowly understanding how to walk on this thing called a leash.

There are a couple of other dogs that are here that are looking for homes too. I dont mind them, but Im not real interested in hanging with them either. This makes my foster mom think Id be perfectly content as an only dog, or as an additional dog.

My foster mom has chickens that live across the yard from me. Those birds are my kryptonite. Once they catch my attention I cannot focus on anything else and my foster mom has to pull me out of sight from them. My foster mom understands that this is because Im a coonhound and she keeps them secure to avoid an incident. But my forever family should understand I probably wont be successful in a home with small, animated animals.

Im completely house trained.  Ive never had an accident in the house or my crate. I also really like my crate. My foster mom gave me a real comfy blankie to lay on and I like to think of my crate as my place for me time.

Im very quiet in the house. But when Im outside, if I see wild animals, like squirrels or bunnies, or if someone that I dont recognize comes up in the yard, I will bay either until I cant see them anymore or my foster mom physically comes to me to tell me its okay.  My foster mom says this is also because Im a coonhound, and thats what coonhound do.

So, if you like snacks and sitting on the porch or you need a watch dog, Im probably the girl for you. If you promise to give me ear scratches and head pets, I promise to love you unconditionally.
